What is a High-Performance Endorsement?
A High-Performance Endorsement is a logbook entry from a Certified Flight Instructor showing you’ve completed the required training in an aircraft with more than 200 horsepower. Once you have it, you’re authorized to act as PIC in any high-performance airplane.
Required for 201+ HP aircraft
Without this endorsement you cannot legally fly high-performance planes as PIC
Includes constant-speed propeller training
You’ll get comfortable managing a CS prop — a key skill for more advanced aircraft
Required for Commercial Pilot training
The FAA requires HP or complex aircraft time as part of your commercial training
What does the training look like?
We fly a Cessna 182 — a classic high-performance trainer — through a structured session designed to build your confidence and competence quickly.

Departure and cross-country leg
Normal takeoff from our home airport, then a short flight to a nearby airport to add fuel — giving you time to get comfortable with the extra power and the constant-speed prop.

Pattern work and maneuvers
We’ll work through short-field and soft-field takeoffs and landings, go-arounds, and general pattern work so you’re fully comfortable with the aircraft’s performance.

Return and endorsement
We head back to Orlando North Airpark. Once your instructor is satisfied with your proficiency, they sign off your logbook and you’re officially HP endorsed.
